A British national died in a paragliding accident in Pokhara on Sunday. Solo paraglider Mitchell Blanchard (68) took off from Sarangkot of Kaski district in the afternoon. Later he lost control of the paraglider that rammed into a tree, causing him serious injures. Though rescued immediately, he died in course of treatment at Metro City Hospital in Pokhara on Sunday night, Superintendent of Police and Kaski police chief Ghanashya Aryal informed. Blanchard had come to Kathmandu from England on January 21 and taken permission for solo paragliding from the Civil Aviation Office Pokhara the next day.
