A rather inspiring story that first proves that book knowledge does not lead anyone a long way. Sagar Prasad Sharma, a 25-year-old man who is just a Class 3 pass out proved his ingenuity by building a ‘Helicopter’ which runs on diesel.
Using local technology, Prasad turned his dream into a reality and it took him almost three years. Prasad, who is a welder by profession, experimented using a diesel engine of a vehicle in his helicopter, initially. He attributed that his wife, Jonmony, his wife helped him immensely in completing the project.
Prasad made an announcement of his machine only after 90% of the work was completed and the news spread like wildfire after that with villagers flocking in to see a ‘never-before’ sight. An aircraft in their village was something no one thought of ever!
Prasad had to shell out above Rs 10 lakh for his helicopter and his friend Toopan Ghimere assisted him financially as well. He said he would be flying it soon.
